Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of the questions other customers have recently asked us. But if you can’t find the answer to any specific question you might have, please don’t hesitate to call us on 0845 688 6005 or alternatively you can email us.

Q: Is there a maximum length for trips within an annual multi-trip policy?

A: Yes. This is different depending on what policy you take out with us. Our Annual Travel policy provides cover for any number of trips in the 12 months period. This policy will cover trips up to a maximum of 45 days duration.

Q: What is the maximum age limit on our policies?

A: Maximum age limit is 89 years for single trips (at date of issue of the policy) or 75 years for Annual multi-trip policies.

Q: Why are some insurers cheaper for certain policies?

A: It’s to do with the quality of the cover. JLT polices are rated by an independent Financial researcher* as a 5-star rated product. Should you ever have to claim, that’s when you find out why other insurers are cheap. They cut away all the cover you need. Their cover simply doesn’t compare with ours.

Q: How far in advance can I purchase a policy?

A: If the policy is for a single trip, then you can purchase up to 12 months in advance. If the policy is for an annual multi-trip policy, then you can purchase up to 6 weeks in advance of the day you want cover to begin.

Q: Can I amend the policy dates/ trip length/ area of cover to suit my needs?

A: Yes, although there might be an additional premium due. Please refer your needs to the admin team to enable them to make any required changes.

Q: I already have travel cover with someone else. Can I start delayed cover with you now?

A: We can set up a policy for you now that starts when your current policy expires. Alternatively, if you prefer, we can call you back and give you a competitive quote nearer the expiry date of your current policy. We will work to your preference.

Q: Can a policy be backdated?

A: No. Not under any circumstances.

Q: If I have an Annual policy and have a trip planned that exceeds the maximum trip length applicable to the policy, can you issue a single trip for the additional days required?

A: No. All Single Trip policies issued must be for cover from the date the policyholder leaves their home address to the date that they arrive back home. In this instance, you would need a single trip policy to cover the entire trip.

Q: Are pre-existing medical conditions covered under the policy?

A: No, however Insurers may consider if they are disclosed.
